About a week ago, The Great McDaniel Adventure moved to Eagle’s Landing RV Park in Holt Florida. Holt is only 16.2 miles away from the KOA in Milton, so Randy didn’t even hook the up Jeep for the trip. That meant that I would have to 1) find my keys to the Jeep and B) remember how to drive said Jeep.
Eagle’s Landing is our kind of place, rural … quiet … out of the way, but with easy access to the freeway. Crestview is about twelve miles away, when trips to the big city are required to replenish supplies.
Originally from Massachusetts, Sue and Rob have owned Eagle’s Landing since 2001. They do a great job of keeping the park clean and tidy and accommodating their customers. Another thing that is nice is that the owner’s live on-site.
The park has sixty sites, all of which are pull-thrus and big-rig friendly. All the sites are level and some are graveled. The roads within the park are wide gravel roads.
Each site has is ample distance from its neighbor and has a picnic table. Don’t laugh. Having a picnic table at an RV park is not a God-given right. There have been times where I have had to beg for one.
All sites have full-hookups and some sites have telephone lines available. Eagle’s Landing also allows you to have your mail and packages forwarded to their address.
Campfires at the sites are not permitted, but there is a community fire pit.
The clubhouse is located in the middle of the park …
… One side of the building has a nice covered patio …
… Inside the clubhouse is a game room, a kitchen and a book exchange. Book exchanges are wonderful!
… the other side is where the very clean laundry facility, showers and restrooms are located. Clotheslines are not allowed at your site, but there is one for use outside the laundry.
Eagle’s Landing is pet friendly with the usual rules for dog owners. This is one of two large fields used for dog walking.
This is the other dog walking field. All dog walking is on-leash, there is no off-leash area.
Eagle’s Landing also offers RV and trailer storage.
One thing to note is that Eagle’s Landing does not take credit cards. This is a growing trend in private parks.
Eagle’s Landing is a wonderful place to stay whether it is just overnight or for an extended stay. The owners are friendly and helpful, the people who are staying here are friendly as well.
